30 Days of Gratefulness- Day 4

If you live in Chicago you may have heard about the unpopular decision to close the only hospital in the community of Roseland. Well there’s a lot that can be said about the why’s and how’s and even about commentaries made by governor Pat Quinn that the state of Illinois doesn’t owe the hospital a whopping $6 mil and the hospital’s head stepping down today. Imagine needing an ambulance and it traveling 20+ miles until you can get checked in to WAIT to receive the care you need? This community if you are not aware is poverty-stricken, underserved, high-crime, and high in mental illness. You can draw you’re own conclusion but I know I’m personally grateful this is not something that impacts me personally. I feel for the residents of the community that utilized this hospital and may lose it because of some political or state beurocracy.Very grateful this isn’t my story… #gratefulnessproject
